UPDATE NOTE: These photos are in no particular order. I also plan to re-scan the photos soon using a new scanner software application I've installed. So, some of these photos may be a bit better later......but they're still not bad considering they are 43 years old and have been stored in trays and boxes all that time.
Please note that the camera I used was a 33mm camera from Montgomery Ward (not a name brand; not sure who made it)....and focusing/shutter speed/aperture, etc. was all manual. I hope you enjoy these photos. I certainly enjoy looking back at this trip I took in 1966.
Two of my best friends from high school and I planned this trip for 2 years before we actually went. Dennis, Brian and I were in college at the time, and the book, "Europe on $5 a Day", was quite popular. I flew from San Francisco to Paris (via New York and Madrid) on June 20th, 1966 and met Brian and Dennis at La Bourget Airport for the beginning of a 12 week 'Grand Tour' using a Eurail Pass, nights in pensions and hostels, etc. We covered 12 countries. These photos (slides) were taken with my 35mm camera and are now over 40 years old. I use a Nikon transparency scanner and am still trying to figure out how to get the best quality scans. I plan to add more scans of any photos I find and other scans of related trip "stuff". I also have two or three new photo editing applications, so I may play with those to see if I get any improvement with image quality, etc.
